On Saturday May 13, 2017 at 18:00:58 UTC, (22:30:58 local time), a moderate earthquake occurred in the northwestern part of the city of Bojnoord. This event was recorded by six accelerograph stations of Iran Strong Motion Network (ISMN). The peak ground acceleration (PGA) of this event was recorded at Naveh station with acceleration of about 624 cm/s2. This earthquake caused moderate damage to the villages of the macroseismic area and the buildings in the Bojnoord city. According to the official reports, unfortunately, two people were killed and dozens were injured in this earthquake.
